Label Everything Clearly
Label each box on multiple sides with a description of the content. You could even consider colour coded labels for different rooms or categories. This makes it much easier later on. When using boxes, it is important to invest in good quality boxes that are all roughly the same size. This will ensure they stack easily and reduce the risk of boxes caving in. We sell small, medium and large boxes in our reception along with all your other packaging accessories.
Disassemble Furniture
Where possible take apart bed frames, tables and other bulky furniture. Store screws and small in labelled bags taped to the furniture. This does not only save space but also helps reduce the risk of any damage.
Store Frequently Used Items Near the Front
Think ahead! Will you need your Christmas decorations or summer clothing before everything else? Place the items that you may need sooner at the front of your unit to save rummaging through your goods to retrieve these.
Use Vertical Space
To make the most of the space in your storage unit, stack boxes to the ceiling but make sure to do it safely. Place heavier boxes at the bottom and lighter, more fragile items at the top. Guarantee your fragile items are protected using bubble wrap or packing paper. Consider using free standing shelving units for added stability and organisation.
